Community Involvement

3/18/2019 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Indianapolis gives back to the community we live and work in.

SERVPRO of Indianapolis West is locally owned and operated, and that's important to us because it means we live in or near the local community we serve. We regard our business as part of the local community and feel very comfortable here. That means when it comes to community, you can trust that we'll be there for you.  Many not-for-profit organizations host events to make our community better and promote principles that we at SERVPRO of Indianapolis West share. Over the years, we’ve worked with these groups because that’s how we believe a community-minded business best helps its community. Here are a few organizations we’ve partnered with that do the hard work to create meaningful events that help others and make Indianapolis an awesome place:

Westside Indianapolis Smoke Alarm Blitz

SERVPRO of Indianapolis West has partnered with the Wayne Township Fire Department for many years to help the American Red Cross distribute and install over 100,000 free smoke alarms to neighborhood homes. Teams go door to door to find homes with inoperative or neglected smoke alarms and replace them with new ones warranted for ten years. If the time ever comes that you experience a house fire, SERVPRO of Indianapolis West can help restore your property and make it “Like it never even happened.”

Saints in the Streets (SITS) Indy

SITS organizes an annual Indianapolis Beautification Event in which hundreds of volunteers clean streets, gutters, alleys, and parks, including segments of Indianapolis West that need it. If many hands make light work, we’re glad to lend a few hands to lighten the load for these saints with their excellent work. Community Safety Day held by the Wayne Township Fire Department, the Community Safety Day is a free family event of fun activities and games. Community Safety Day provides a platform for the local Fire Department, various police divisions, and other safety support services like those offered by SERVPRO of Indianapolis West, to present essential fire safety tips to children and adults.

Henryville Tornado Relief Fund

On March 2, 2012, the largest tornado on record for the region tore through Southern Indiana, reshaping much of the geography and carrying debris miles away, including into neighboring states Kentucky and Ohio. The area is still feeling the effects of the devastating event. Restoring communities is something we do on a house by house, client by client basis, so we’re honored to partner with and to have donated to a group that has taken on that work on such a full scale.
